How do I register for NCKP?  You can register online with your credit card using our secure server.  You can also download a registration form and send it by mail.  Click here to register.

When will I receive my registration confirmation?
 When your credit card or check has been processed, you will receive a registration confirmation to your email address from This email address is being protected from spambots. I have completed my NCKP registration.  What do I do next?  Your registration does not include hotel reservations or airfare, so please make those arrangements as soon as possible.  You will receive NCKP updates by e-mail with important information about the conference, including any changes to the schedule.

How do I make hotel reservations?  Please make your hotel reservations directly with the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center by calling the following toll-free number: 888.627.9031.

To insure that a room is available at the hotel conference rate, you must make your reservation before July 2, 2013. Earlier registration is strongly advised. Be sure to specify that you are attending the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy 2013 when you make your reservation—even if you are using reward points. It is best if you use our full name when making hotel reservations by phone rather than the abbreviation NCKP.

Which airport should I use?  There are two International airports that serve the Chicago area.  O’Hare International Airport is about 15 miles from the Westin Hotel, and Chicago Midway Airport is about 25 miles from the hotel.

What about ground transportation?  The Westin Lombard Yorktown Center does not provide airport transportation but the concierge can assist you with options and reservations. We recommend the following commercial services for transportation between O'Hare, Midway, and the Westin. Fares and services are for reference only and are not guaranteed by NCKP.

Can I attend a Pre-Conference Seminar without registering for the conference?
 Yes you can.  Register online here: NCKP Registration

I forgot to make reservations for a Pre-Conference Seminar, the Banquet, etc.  What do I do?
 Download the registration form, complete the missing information, and mail the form and payment to the address given on the form.  If you have registered online, simply email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. Can I bring my family member or friend to NCKP?  Family members and friends are welcome to attend NCKP sessions and visit the Exhibit Hall if they are registered participants.  Exceptions are granted for those that have family and friends playing in  recitals and masterclasses.  Evening recitals are free and open to the public. Your NCKP 2013 badge must be displayed to enter all sessions and areas of the hotel where sessions are being held.

Can I get a refund if I can’t attend the conference?  Cancellation of registration, submitted in writing to NCKP and postmarked or emailed on or before July 1, 2013, will be honored with a full refund less a $50 processing fee.  Prorated refunds for cancellations after July 1, 2013 may be made at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

When I arrive at the conference what should I do?
 Please check in at the NCKP registration booth, where you will receive your program book, name badge, and other registration materials.

What assistance do you provide for persons with disabilities?
 The Westin provides full accessibility for disabled persons.  For more details, please visit the Westin Hotel Website. NCKP is unable to provide assistance for the hearing impaired and sight impaired.

Is parking free at the Westin?  Yes, parking is free at the Westin, whether you are a guest of the hotel or not.  The only charge for parking is if you choose to use the valet parking services.

What dining options are nearby?  The Westin features two restaurants, Holy Mackerell and Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse. The Yorktown Center: The Shops on Butterfield, a short 5-minute walk from the Westin, has several restaurants, from casual options to fine dining experiences. Is it easy to get to Chicago for some sightseeing?  Yes!  The Westin offers a free shuttle service to the Lombard Metra Station, where you can catch a train into downtown Chicago.
